Meet The Executive Committe of the PFW Board

Ginger
Ginger is from Central Wisconsin. She is a lifelong self-advocate starting at the age of four as a poster child for United Cerebral Palsy, then moving to her own apartment as a young adult, and becoming active in her community. Ginger is a graduate of Wisconsin Partners in Policymaking. She worked on a BPDD SPARKS grant that helped to build an inclusive playground in Oshkosh. She served as a member-at-large on the PFW Executive Committee before her election as president in 2021. Her goal as president is to “continue advocating and getting the People First organization name out there. I want to make it a more recognizable organization across the state of Wisconsin.” Ginger also serves as a consultant to PFW, teaching Safe and Free and Rights classes.

Ashley Mathy
Ashley is from Northern Wisconsin. She is a well-known disability advocate who has spoken around the state of Wisconsin advocating for individuals with disabilities. Ashley is a Self-Advocate Leader with People First Wisconsin, a public speaker, and a peer mentor intern. She serves on the Governor’s Committee for People with Disabilities and recently completed her term as the Chair of Wisconsin’s Board for People with Developmental Disabilities. She is also a Wisconsin Partners in Policymaking graduate, Employment 1st Ambassador and a Self-Advocate Leader who teaches Safe and Free and Rights classes as a consultant for People First. Ashley may look familiar as she is one of the hosts of the Self-Determination You-Tube Channel. Ashley’s motto is, “Cross out the Dis and Embrace the Ability”. Ashley won a Diehard Award in 2020 for her advocacy.

Larry Brown
Larry is from southeast Wisconsin and has served as the president of his local PFW Chapter. When asked why he wanted to serve as a member-at-large of the PFW Executive Committee, Larry shared, “I am interested in using my leadership and communication skills while also developing them all in an organization and mission in which I share great passion for and helping out people with all abilities.” Larry is a graduate of BPDD’s Partners in Policymaking and has been active with other advocacy organizations for many years.

Don Fascio
Don is one of the founding members of People First Wisconsin. He is very active in his local chapter in central Wisconsin. Don received the Diehard Award at the 2024 Self-Determination Conference for his many years of advocacy.

Josh Gretebeck
Josh is from southcentral Wisconsin and has served on the PFW Executive Committee for many years. He is a graduate of BPDD’s Partners in Policymaking and was very active with the Save IRIS advocacy efforts. Josh leads by positive example. In his spare time he enjoys Special Olympics and has travelled to Washington D.C. to represent Special Olympics Wisconsin.

We have quarterly board meetings. Our Executive Committee meets each month. Members of our chapters vote for who will serve on the Executive Committee.
